France’s Cannes Actress Nitanshi Goel made a memorable first impression at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival by paying a stirring tribute to the heyday of Indian film on the red carpet.
Known for her breakthrough performance in the Oscar-shortlisted film “Laapataa Ladies,” the 17-year-old actress entered the world’s limelight on Thursday with grace and composure.
Nitanshi’s outfit, which included a handmade white saree made by Jade by Monica and Karishma, was a moving homage to the women who helped to create Hindi cinema’s history.
The young actress brought a legacy of cinematic excellence to one of the most prominent platforms in the world, wearing hairpins with the faces of movie icons such as Madhubala, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Nutan, Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh, Vyjayanthimala, Hema Malini, Rekha, and Sridevi.
Nitanshi’s first outfit, which was fashioned by Shrey and Urja and echoed the style of traditional Indian dress, was accessorized with a delicately embroidered shirt that was meticulously beaded with pearls. There were few accessories.
In a stunning black gown embellished with gold embroidery by Jade by Monica and Karishma, Nitanshi returned to the red carpet later that night.
Nitanshi attended the “Dossier 137” screening in Cannes. ‘All We Imagine As Light’ filmmaker Payal Kapadia and Chhaya Kadam are among the several Indian artists at this year’s Cannes festival that coincide with her debut.
‘Tanvi The Great’, the actor’s film, will be presented on May 17 at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in France.
In addition, the renowned films “Aranyer Din Ratri” by Satyajit Ray and “Homebound” by Karan Johar will also be shown in Cannes.
