Ashwin Kumar directed Mahavatar Narsimha unexpectedly became one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025 and swept the Indian movie office. The movie, which defied industry projections and broke records to become India's highest-grossing animated picture, has struck a chord with viewers of all religions by fusing inspirational storyline with stunning animation. The animated epic's spiritual elements, its exceptional success, and the emotional reaction from viewers, many of whom were Muslim, were all discussed by the filmmaker.

Ashwin Kumar talked candidly about the Mahavatar Narsimha's incredible run, its message of global faith, and the warm reactions he has received from viewers, many of whom are Muslims, in an interview with NDTV.  He said, "We're overflowing with emotion for our own children. Now imagine the magnitude of love the divine has for us. This is not a religious film. It's an interreligious faith film. Because love is a universal emotion. So is faith. Hence, the film is growing leaps and bound."

Ashwin Kumar revealed that viewers from a variety of backgrounds, including many Muslims, have expressed to him how the movie has deepened their own religious beliefs. He made it clear that the message is about comprehending the fundamentals of faith rather than promoting religious conversions.

Mahavatar Narsimha director shared, "I've had people from different communities, including many Muslim viewers, come up to me and say that the film strengthened their own faith. I'm not saying go convert your religion. What I'm saying is, you understand what faith is. Whether you pray to a God, believe in energy, or place your trust in the universe, this film simply asks you to surrender to that faith."

Mahavatar Narsimha has struck a chord with audiences of all ages and backgrounds by fusing breathtaking animation with a timeless legendary story. Despite fierce competition from Saiyaara, Son Of Sardaar 2, and Dhadak 2, it has made an astounding RS 175 crore worldwide in just 15 days after its debut on July 25, 2025. The devotional animated actioner has not only broken box office records but also won accolades from viewers of all religions and across cultural and religious divides.

Mahavatar Narsimha, which was written by Jayapurna Das, is directed by Ashwin Kumar for the first time. Based on Lord Vishnu's ten avatars, it is the first installment of a projected seven-part Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, which is produced by Kleem Productions and Hombale Films. Drawing on the Vishnu Purana, Narasimha Purana, and Shrimad Bhagavata Purana, this chapter tells the age-old story of Prahlad and Lord Vishnu's Narasimha avatar. The movie, which explored themes of dedication and faith, was made available in 2D and 3D.
